Seven Applications from the Christmas Story for the Christian Life

 

  1. Luke 2:4-7, When God Gets Involved in Your Life Your Plans Get Changed (Gal. 1:3-18)
  2. Luke 2:8-20, When You Hear the Word of God or God Shows You Something You are Now Responsible and You Must Respond (Romans 12:1, 6-9) Knowing means you will be held accountable.
  3. Luke 2:21-24, You Will Have to Persevere to Achieve What God Showed You Was Possible (Hebrews 6:12)
  4. Luke 2:25-38, Matt. 2:1-2, God Will Let You Know; God Will Be Getting in Touch with You (John 14:1; 15-18; 25-27) Even in the midst of the wilderness God will encourage you.
  5. Matt. 2:3-12, You Will Be Opposed by Gods Enemy (Ephesians 6:11)
  6. Matt. 2:13-23, Your Life and Your Character (nature) Will Be Affected By Having God in Your Life (Ephesians 4:17-to the end of Ephesians, Main Verse Ep. 5:8-11)
  7. The Supernatural is a normal expectation of the Christian Experience (Hebrews 6:4-5)
    1. Spiritual Supernatural in the Christmas story angels, dreams, prophets, some signs (star, Elizabeths pregnancy)
    2. Natural Supernatural in the Christmas story timing, events, provisions (wisemen), signs (babe in clothes)
